AE’s Business Accelerator includes self-paced online courses, in-person workshops, and tailored 1:1 mentoring for underserved entrepreneurs at any stage of their business journey. Our flexible model helps clients build skills, increase financial literacy, and grow confidence in a supportive, nonjudgmental space.
Mentoring is central to our programming. We work alongside clients to build self-esteem and put the tools for business success directly in their hands. Each client typically receives 1–4 hours of mentoring each month. This personalized support, along with all Busness Accelerator offerings, is included in each of our distinct programs.
Mobile workshops are supported in part by the Legacy Foundation of Tompkins County

Amplifying Opportunity in Our Community expands AE's services in Tompkins County by providing up to $10,000 annually ($1,000 each month) in stipends to a cohort of 10 women of color entrepreneurs. This model combines monthly payments with education and mentoring to reduce the financial stress faced by many under-resourced entrepreneurs, supporting clients in transitioning from “survival mode” to strategic growth, improved credit scores, and financial stability.
Amplifying Opportunity in Our Community is made possible by Park Foundation
Amplifying Opportunity in Broome County, a similar pilot, will launch in July 2025. In partnership with the Binghamton Small Business Development Center, AE will provide guidance for underserved entrepreneurs as they develop business plans and gain knowledge in areas including business financials, day-to-day operations, and improving credit scores. We are currently seeking funding for the pilot’s stipend component. This workshop series is designed to help women and girls in Chemung and Steuben Counties build the financial knowledge and skills needed for long-term economic self-sufficiency. This new program addresses a critical gap: many women and girls in our rural communities lack access to financial education and are not taught how to manage money, avoid debt, or plan for their futures. Without these skills, they’re more likely to struggle financially, making it harder to achieve independence and security.
These workshops, which will take place at AE’s downtown Elmira headquarters, will give women and girls practical tools to make informed financial decisions, understand emotional barriers to financial stability, avoid common pitfalls, and gain control over their economic futures.
Financial Foundations for Women & Girls is supported by the Fund for Women of the Southern Tier
